GROUP CLASSES

Our Group Classes are organized into two different categories: Foundations and Enrichment - Body & Mind so that it's easy for you to find exactly what you're looking for!

Foundations Classes focus on the skills that our dogs need in order to participate in as many aspects of daily life as possible, whereas Enrichment Classes provide our dogs with the mental and physical stimulation they require in order to keep them happy and healthy.

Please note that all Align Canine Group classes are limited to a maximum of 6 Canine Participants per class.

FOUNDATIONS

CANINE DEVELOPMENT

This class is designed to introduce you to all of the important aspects of raising and beginning training with your new puppy.

While we touch on obedience skills like sit, down, etc., our focus in this class is to show you how to create confident, happy puppies, who are engaged and focused on you, who can ignore other dogs and people, and who have a great head start with things like loose leash walking, recall, and more!

CANINE FUNDAMENTALS

We leave things like "sit" to you and instead focus on life skills that your dog needs to have in order to be able to participate in as much of our lives as possible!

This class focuses on loose leash walking, calm neutrality around other dogs and people, recall building, "leave it", and more!

CANINE ESSENTIALS

If you've taken our Canine Fundamentals class (formerly Canine Life Skills), then this is your opportunity to practice the skills that you learned in different environments and contexts. Canine Essentials will take place at a variety of outdoor locations in the City of Saskatoon, so that you and your dog can work together in the real world!

CANINE

CONVENTIONAL

If you and your dog have taken our Canine Fundamentals (formerly Life Skills), or an equivalent class in the past, you'll be more than ready for Canine Conventional!

This class is geared towards a more conventional and formal competition style obedience while utilizing existing skills and adding some new ones! We'll practice down stays, introduce vertical jumps, improve on recall, and work on formal focused heeling.

ENRICHMENT - BODY & MIND

SCENT DETECTION

Scent Detection is not only an excellent way to stimulate your dog mentally, but it also improves confidence, strengthens the bond between you and your dog, and is an excellent way to train when you have limited space or time.

During class you will learn the theory of canine scent detection and get to put that theory into practice! We will be teaching the dogs as per SDDA (Sporting Detection Dog Association) rules.

Confidence & Relationship Development

It can be difficult for dogs to learn how to be confident and self-assured in today's busy human world and we know COVID definitely did NOT help.

With that in mind, this class focuses on helping your dog overcome the many uncertainties that are present in our society while teaching you strategies to strengthen the relationship between the two of you!

DRAG WEIGHT

This class is a fantastic option for dogs who have energy to burn!

Drag Weight teaches a dog a slow, formulaic approach to pulling and is excellent physical and mental exercise! It is also a great way to keep your dog's joints healthy and moving smoothly.

TREIBBALL

BASICS

This class introduces the basic concepts and skills required for anyone who is interested in pursuing the sport of Treibball OR for anyone who just wants to give their dog some fun things to think about and do!

Skills will include targeting, sending and direction, pushing objects, and more!
